Thoughts from the Bebi

Last night we had loads of cats outside our house. First, we were sat watching tv and noticed a stray we haven't seen before on the wall. While we were taking photos, Jinx came over and before we knew it, George was here along with Thomas and the black cat that lives at the other end of the terrace. Margaret got into a bit of a set-to with George and hid under the green Rover, while Davi was more cautious and stayed behind our wall (so we could protect him if George came over LOL)Thomas came to visit again this morning and was brave enough to enter the house.

I think I upset one of our neighbours last night. I was stood at the door and noticed a lad in his late teens/early twenties tring to flick an elastic band at the black cat. I stood for a while longer and saw his young teen "accomplice" trying to flush the poor cat out from under a car for another go so I let loose with a nice loud "OI!". The youngest one legged it and the older one seemed to think it was ok because he didn't actually hit it. Every time I replied with "yes but you were trying to" he just said "but I didn't hit it" I gave up in the end and stomped inside. Smilie_PDT I don't care who an animal belongs to, if I see it being mistreated I'll jump in with both feet.

I was sitting here talking to Monika and noticed the way the sun was shining on the bricks on the house over the road, so took a photo to share.

Edit: I re-opened this to add the part about the bricks and when I saved it I noticed that the post is timestamped originally 11:11 on 11th July... Smilie_PDT

I heard my first cuckoo of the year today LOL a bit late I know... But living where we do I'm surprised I heard one at all.

Phew hasn't it been hot!

George popped along to visit today, he stopped in the doorway, spotted that Cuddles was on food guard, and strolled off to sit under next door's car. After he realised that Cuddles was staying put, he left via the wall round the back.

Bit of a rubbish video... Watch your neck Smilie_PDT http://www.dailymotion.com/Bebi/video/401471

Whoopee a Thompson Directory! Oh wow thanks Postie! Smilie_PDT

Oh that was so funny... One of the black cats with part of an ear missing (there's two of them, same ear... I kid ye not) came along and I spent a few minutes sat at the door with him taking pictures. When he left he used the drain as a toilet LOL who says cats aren't intelligent?

Bebi

It's starting already LOL look at today's post from me in this thread... http://forum.myfreeforum.org/ftopic4796.php

I re-read Terry Pratchett's "Going Postal" the other night, and there's a character in it called Anghammarad. Imagine my surprise today while watching Escape to the Country and the female of the couple has almost exactly the same name! (Angharrad - sp?)
Bebi

Hooray! The weather should cool down by Sunday!

We stayed up last night and ordered The Chronicles of Narnia from NTL. What a truly amazing film! I really enjoyed reading the books by CS Lewis when I was younger, and now my children love them too.

George's owner stopped by yesterday and told us that Margaret has been going into his house to visit George. He said it's amazing as George is a "nasty animal" (his words) he had an electrician round the other day and George full-on attacked him Smilie_PDT

Also we had another cat round. We've named him Oscar (after Oscar the Grouch - Sesame Street lol) and he appears to have a breathing problem. He allowed us to stroke him so maybe we can take him to PDSA to get him looked at once he's more trusting...? I'm not sure, the stress of transporting him probably wouldn't be worth it.

Oscar talking to Cuddles at the door:

Such a pretty cat...

I just spent a nice hour working with the founder of TheBroth to fix my room. Yes, I have managed it yet again LOL apparantly I'm a bit of a celebrity there... http://www.thebroth.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=186 Not only do I have weird problems with my tile counter, my room decided it was having an off day and I was told if we exited it would self-combust Smilie_PDT Like I need an excuse to sit in there and move tiles about all day hehehe Anyways it's all fixed now and all's well in TheBebi Smilie_PDT

I popped onto UM for the first time in ages, and what was one of the first threads I came across? This one... Smilie_PDT

There's an elderly couple who live down the street a bit with an old collie-style dog. One day I was stood outside the front door stroking the cats and the gentleman walked past and mentioned that they were getting a kitten to keep their dog company as their cat had just passed away. I noticed the other day that they have a puppy, not a kitten. For some reason this bothers me, I'm not sure exactly why though...

Wahay the kids are here for their annual fortnight Yorkshire holiday Smilie_PDT

Here are some pictures of them having a whale of a time. They're all taken with my mobile phone (Motorola Pebl) so apologies in advance for the quality of some of them.

Yay it's my birthday! Smilie_PDT 30 years old... Ffs I'm "mature" now... LOL

My cake

Ashleigh kindly woke us all up at 6:45 - is there really a 6:45am?!? - so I'm bleedin knackered already.
Bebi

Why is it that kids nowadays get so many punctures? We've gone through a whole puncture repair kit already and they've been here 10 days... *sighs* Ashleigh has another flat tyre and the local shop is out of stock of repair kits. Oh well they'll have to go out and play "on their feet" today

Just got back from a long and stressful morning in town and the phone went... "is this the mental health team?" Smilie_PDT That's made my day it really has LOL
Bebi

Look what I just found LOL

On the kids last day I treated them to a trip down the cellar with my parrafin lamp. Here are the resulting photos:

The cellar in daylight (well, with the light on anyway lol):
The green door leads to another room, which is currently filled with all the junk the landlady left down there.

Something very odd happened last night. We were sat watching tv around 19:45 and there was a knock at the window (about 5 bangs in quick succession). I got up and looked out of the door straight away and there wasn't a soul in sight on the entire street.

Possible solutions:

Someone knocked and ran away very quickly
It was a bird or bat (doubtful, we both agree it was definitely a proper "knock")
Cuddles somehow did it (he came trotting up the street just after we'd opened the door)
We both imagined exactly the same sound at the same time
It was from the tv (again, doubtful, the tv volume was quite low and this was very loud)

This is a very surreal moment - Andy is sat next to me on the sofa, driling a potato, with a cordless drill. I've not asked.
Bebi

Anthony was just playing on a painting game, and he just got a popup that said "Warning. Are you nuts?" Smilie_PDT
Bebi

Very odd, the printer just started on its own and printed out a blank page with just the letter U. The oddest thing is that it printed it while the pc it was connected to was off. We have three networked, Kris was sat next to the main pc (the one the printer is attached to) and neither me nor Andy had printed anything at all this morning - it wouldn't have even if we wanted to being as the main one was off...
Bebi

We've just been watching the Lottery Dream Number. The first number out was 1 so when the next was due Andy shouted "two!". The second number was 9, but printed on the ball there was a minute 2, clearly visible in the close up shot Smilie_PDT
Bebi

I was watching a repeat of Two Pints Of Lager on BBC3 last night and they played two James songs in the background - Waltzing Along and Come Home Smilie_PDT

The other night Eastenders played a James song too, I forget which one it was though.

I unblocked my first sink today! First time I've ever had to do it - and I had to go borrow a plunger from next door Smilie_PDT

We had some sad news today, my Grandma passed away at 2:30am this morning. She'd suffered cancer for a number of years now, and was in the last stages. It was very peaceful.
