Afternoon tea at the Ritz, LondonOn my 26th birthday (28th August 2002) my best friend and I booked afternoon tea at the Ritz. It's a little pricey at £36 a head but well worth the experience. I highly recommend for everyone to do this at least once in their lives.
If you prefer coffee they offer a nice Ritz filter blend, I enjoyed it. The food is traditional English afternoon tea style finger food, and is replaced as you empty the platter. We chose the vegetarian option, and had tiny sandwiches with the crusts cut off and a lovely selection of cream cakes. After this we were naughty and ordered champagne coctails to finish off the event. You can order whichever extras you wish, but remember that anything not included in the afternoon tea menu is extra on top. I think the coctails were £15 apiece, but hey it's not every day you celebrate your birthday in The Ritz!
As it was my birthday I was presented with a cake as the pianist played Happy Birthday - it was just one of those moments you never forget
