I've recently started making my own dips. As always, you can adjust the recipes to suit your own tastes.
Cheese and chive
1x tablespoon mayonnaise
2x tablespoon plain yoghurt
Grated cheese (to taste)
Fresh chopped chives (to taste)
Just mix it all together and voila, a very tasty instant dip. This makes enough for a snack, you can always make more per batch if needed. Try to eat on the same day it's made, it will keep for a couple of days in the fridge, but tastes much better freshly made.
Hummus
2 cups canned chick peas (drained - save juice)
2 - 3 tablespoons tahini paste (sesame)
2 -3 tablespoons lemon juice
1 teaspoon salt (optional)
2 cloves garlic, halved
1 -3 tablespoon olive oil
Simply throw the main ingredients into a blender and give it a whizz. Use 1 tbsp olive oil to blend, and save the rest for dressing, drizzled over the top. If the mixture is too thick, you can use some of the chickpea juice you saved to thin it down a little. It'll keep for up to 3 days in the fridge.
