I know, I've been away for sooo long and I'm sorry  Smilie_PDT

I'm going to make a concerted effort to try and get the forum back up and running as it should be *polishes halo*

I didn't really have time to explain what's been happening before, I'd been working on a post about a book I'd read all day and only really had time to get it posted last night.

I managed to blow the new pc up linky quite a few times (PSU again) and eventually Andy got rather fed up replacing it every few weeks so we just gave up.  My inheritance finally got sorted out in May and I got my new IBM laptop in June, co-inciding nicely with some health problems and then my daughter arrived for the entire summer holidays in July.  The health problems lasted all the way through the summer and finally got cleared up around Sept/Oct time after around 8 weeks of antibiotics and some hospital visits which gave me the all clear from serious underlying causes, but it didn't really help that much because they're still not sure what was causing them exactly.  I got referred to a specialist in Oct (which I'm still waiting for an appointment to come through).  November was spent trying to recuperate.

At the beginning of Dec I ended up with a severe case of flu, which cleared up a few days before Xmas, and on the 27th I managed to get a second bout of the flu which is proving even more annoying than the first one.  The sinus and catargh is almost cleared up (well, I still have a chesty cough but I can breathe through my nose at least lol) but I'm still left with the aches and weakness which from the last episode could take anything up to another two weeks to go -sighs-

Oh, and I also started a wonderful bout of serial insomnia in September which is still with me...  One amazing week saw a grand total of 13 hours sleep and the hallucinations ended up not quite as fun as they first seemed when I almost fell backwards down the stairs one day from imagining I saw something coming at me when I reached the top step lol not something I'd recommend  Smilie_PDT

On the upside, the illnesses have helped me shift some of the weight I've been trying to get rid of - since the summer I've gone from around 11 stone to 9 stone 10 pounds (as of the night before last) so I only have around another 3-6lbs to go and I'll be able to fit into all my old clothes again  -squee-  no more living in elasticated trousers because I refuse to buy a whole new wardrobe just cos I got fat rofl

Edit
I can't believe I forgot about this!  When we got the inheritance through and my laptop ordered, I bought Andy a motorbike (it was only fair lol I'd spent £1000 on the laptop, and he got his licence back after having to wait and make sure he had no more fits, and it made more sense than buying a car)  We spent the rest on completely redesigning the kitchen and buying all new appliances, as well as treating ourselves to a few luxuries once we'd budgeted for the kitchen.

This is a 500cc scooter, it was almost 20 years since I'd ridden pillion and that was a 50cc bike as it was, so this has taken a lot of getting used to.  The backrest helps a lot, especially when he's accellerating up a steep hill -bites fingernails- oh, and closing your eyes while riding pillion is not a good idea, trust me rofl
