A week ago, I picked up a bunch of bananas by the stem from my counter and all broke free due to weight strain. They weren't overly ripe, so I was somewhat surprised.
Anyway, I peeled them, wrapped each individually in foil, and froze them that morning. Before going to bed, I threw one in the refrigerator to defrost.
It wasn't too appetizing in appearance (Slightly brownish), but the flavor was outstanding. I found it reminiscent of banana pudding, and the chill provided the satisfaction of eating ice cream without milk fat and all the excess sugar.

That's interesting to know
Another tip I have for bananas is not to keep them with other fruit or vegetables, bananas release a gas as they naturally ripen (ethylene) which can cause both the bananas and the fruit/veg they are placed with to ripen faster and give an added chance of spoiling. Also, keeping bananas in the fridge can stunt the ripening process.
Here are some links from wiki regarding bananas and ripening

I discovered that the fruit can be eaten directly out of the freezer, but you may want to wait 5 to 10 minutes anyway. The color remains, and the sugar doesn't separate like it does when left overnight to defrost in the refrigerator.
