Right, this has been doing my head in for a few days now, and also a friend of mine whom I've been badgering about it LOL

In the Faerie City there's a tower which takes you to Altador when you click on the light coming from it.

Quick Link: http://www.neopets.com/altador/index.phtml

This plot was actually released in the summer but it's apparantly still completable. I'm receiving all the correct items so far.

The following posts will include info that will help you to solve the plot. If you do not wish to preview this then STOP READING Smilie_PDT

This link is invaluable for those who are stuck:

http://www.jellyneo.net/content/p...ndex.php?id=walkthrough&day=1

This link is for Day 1 of the plot. You can easily navigate via the links on the site.

I won't bother detailing much here as the above site is very thorough. It will have everything you need on it.

One point I will note is where the above site specifies a time it means the Neopian time on the Neopets website. This can be found on all pages under the links section on the left hand side.

Also, sometimes you need to do certain steps after an amount of time has passed. If I find I can't do something I stop and exit Altador and play a game then return. If that fails I try again the next day.

The constellations... This part isn't easy!

Before I start, the links in the JellyNeo site are ok, but the starmaps they create sometimes aren't correct. You may need to make one yourself. Don't panic, I've done it in Excel. It took me a while but the instructions are pretty straightforward. Ok, it doesn't have the handy guide that the Ye Olde Star Mapper website has, but at least you'll know it's accurate.

However, this site: http://hacks.atrus.org/neopets/findConstellations.fcgi worked for me, but you still need to actually go and find the stars co-ordinates yourself on the map (either Excel or via the telescope)

A little knowledge of graphs goes a long way regarding finding the constellations once you have the co-ordinates. Basically the telescope screen opens in the centre. Each set of co-ordinates will have two sets of numbers, positive and negative, or a combination of the two. Below is a quick diagram I made up to easily show which area of the map you should be aiming for when looking for the co-ordinates. If you change the menu on the red button to "Add Star" you can plot all the stars then join them up once this is done. I found this less confusing than joining them up one by one.

Excel Starmap tips:
The page with full instructions for creating your own starmap can be found here: http://www.jellyneo.net/content/plot/dfg_main/starmap.html

I created one normal one and then I played around with the colours to create one to print so I can search for the constellations and plot possible locations in pencil. It's also easier on the eyes than staring at a screen.

Original Starmap

Printable Starmap

WARNING: Your constellations may be in different places to mine. The above images are just for example.

I've left the gridlines faintly showing on the printed one, as the direct centre of the grid is where the telescope opens up. It just makes it a little easier to work out which way to pan the telescope.

REMEMBER: The starmap will extend as you find more constellations. I've managed to locate the first nine so far on the original map I created. A couple were hanging off the edge slightly but I managed to locate some of the stars and complete the rest on the telescope screen.

ALSO: My first set of co-ordinates did not have the last three constellations listed. I needed to re-program the Constellation Locator ( http://hacks.atrus.org/neopets/findConstellations.fcgi ) once I had found the first nine to give me the last three

The last three constellations might not be on the original Starmap, but by this stage you'll have a pretty good idea of where to find them. I've not bothered creating a new map, I just pan the telescope and hover over the stars until I find one with the correct co-ordinates. I then use the Add Star tip above rather than trying to join them up as I go along.

Please be patient, this post is a little confusing because I'm writing it as I go along. Once I've completed the constellations I'll have a clearer idea of what's going on and be able to tidy it up to be more understandable.

Altador Water Distribution Plant

Whooh this is a toughie. I had to go searching out some more information because I'd tried the Jellyneo advice and it didn't work. I'd clicked randomly for a couple of hours before sighing loudly and doing a specific search.

I found the following information on http://www.neoitems.net/neohelp/s...r=427512&page=0&fpart=all posted by fuzzles_forever. I'm pleased to say that within 10 minutes I received the congratulations screen.

Quote:

Never put all the levers and valves in the up position. This causes Altador to flood. (On the other hand, you may want to do this to "reset" your puzzle.)
Put all levers in the down position and all valves to "X". Then, turn the left valve in the left room. It that doesn't do anything, put that valve back to "X" and turn the right valve. Test each valve or lever individually across the three rooms. If you haven't been interrupted by a victory screen, go back to the left room, and turn both valves. Then check each valve or lever with that leftmost valve turned. Does that make sense? You'll keep at it until you are interrupted.

The Janitor's Basement.

Start by using one rock. After placing it on one gear go and open the ceiling and see which way it opens. You need it to open the right hand side not the left. Count the notches it opens if it goes to the right. There are three gears you're looking for, 4 notches, 5 notches and 6 notches that open it a total of 15 notches. Once you find either 4, 5 or 6 leave the rock there and place the second. Go through the same process until you've found it opens 15 notches to the right. Nothing will happen, but you'll see the three dots on the floor to the right once it's open 15 notches. Click on these three dots and you'll get the constellation.

Warning: One gear will reset the gears to random combinations and you need to start over.

NOTE: Skipping this step does not work. I tried to go straight to the telescope and enter the constellation but it said it wasn't recognised.
